Turning 40

This past week, I turned 40, and instead of dreading the milestone, I’ve decided to celebrate the next year it in the most adventurous way possible: by completing a list of 40 amazing experiences with the people I love most.


Why 40? Because life is too short not to embrace every moment. This milestone feels like the perfect opportunity to push myself, create new memories, and say yes to more experiences, and spend more time with the people I love.


Here’s my list of 40 adventures to complete this year:

  1. Visit a new country

  2. Watch a professional football match in Europe

  3. Go to a luau ✅ - completed February 4, 2025

  4. Watch a new play or musical

  5. Ride a new roller coaster

  6. Spend a weekend playing board games and drinking wine

  7. Go to Oktoberfest

  8. Hike a new trail

  9. Go on a road trip

  10. Go on a pub crawl

  11. Take a cooking or baking class

  12. Go to a Fringe Festival (preferably Edinburgh Fringe)

  13. Wine tasting at a vineyard

  14. Watch the sunrise on my birthday at the beach ✅ - completed January 31, 2025

  15. Watch the sunset on my 40th birthday at the beach

  16. Go to a live concert

  17. Go to a sporting event

  18. Donate blood

  19. Go on a picnic

  20. Go on a scavenger hunt

  21. Learn to sabre champagne ✅ - completed January 25, 2025

  22. Go stargazing or see a meteor shower

  23. Go go-karting

  24. Sleep in a haunted house, castle, or hotel

  25. Go camping or glamping

  26. Get a new tattoo

  27. Have a night out dancing

  28. Watch a movie outside

  29. Go to a sip and paint night

  30. Host a boozy brunch

  31. Go on a walking tour

  32. Win at quiz night

  33. Go bowling

  34. Take a creative class (pottery, glass blowing, floral arrangement, etc.)

  35. Have a spa day

  36. Have a puzzle and wine day

  37. Go mini-golfing

  38. Take a day trip to anywhere

  39. Spend a patio day with friends

  40. Spend a day on a boat



Some of these adventures are big, like traveling to a new country or going a professional football match in Europe, while others are simple joys, like a picnic or a stargazing night. But each one is about connecting, celebrating, and living life to the fullest.
